new blog post...
Hi everyone.,,. Welcome to our second blog post,,, Erm... Unfortunately we haven’t We haven’t been working on the mod,,,. I’ve just been remaking assets for the last 6 months..,,.. Murioz has done another 40 songs to do..,,... And Gabe isn’t codJUST KIDDING!!!! HAHAAAAA!!! APRIL FOOLS!!!!!
So where the hell have you been??
As of a few months ago we decided to switch out smaller teasers for bigger ones with more substance like OST uploads, gameplay teasers and such. While this has helped us set up bigger goals and overall improved general production of the project, getting songs fully complete and ready for a teaser such as that is easier than done.
Our current work schedule involves finishing the playable aspect of a given song and then moving onto the next, coming back later to add that final layer of visual polish once we’re done with more important things. While this has significantly helped us in regards to our productivity, it means the teasers end of things for you lot has been pretty dry the last few months, which is quite unfortunate.
That isn’t to say we’ve been wanting to neglect yous in the updates department though as our main goal currently is to finish up actual development and only tease things we can confidently say are final; this is also the reason we didn’t follow through with the monthly blog posts originally promised since it takes up too much time and I don’t think is entirely a great idea for a simple FNF mod we’re producing.
However in regards to actual progress, I’m happy to report that content wise significant progress has been made in the last few months, with the way things are going we hope to reward your patience with more consistent updates and teasers from this point forward (aswell as more blogposts if yous are interested in that), however I’ll talk more about that later on.
i think this is bonus
Seeing as we’ve been homing in on the main story mode campaign for a while, in the last few months our focus has shifted to the extra content available after completing the main story mode campaign.
I won’t delve too much into the progress of these since I talked about that more previously, however what I can say is that we’ve decided on about 8-10 high effort bonus songs that we feel cover various aspects, characters and furthermore of the Mario Mayhem franchise in a way that doesn’t bloat the mod into oblivion and people familiar and unfamiliar with the webseries alike can still understand and enjoy.
In terms of actual progress on these songs, we currently have about 5-6 of these playable without events and visual polish and about 2 fully complete. I know those numbers may seem a bit daunting given how long it’s been since our last major update but trust me when I say it’s smooth sailing from here in terms of progress and you guys actually seeing what we’ve been up to.
As for my end, it’s been pretty fun working on the visual side of these songs. Each one respectively opens up an entirely new artstyle to toy around with outside of the main pixel-art one shown and it’s been a blast experimenting how to work around that. We’ve even got some contributing artists now alongside myself!! But I’ll discuss that later on.
I don’t want to go to into spesifics of certain songs we’ve been working on as I want to keep a lot of their suprises for release or dismantle what we could talk about in future blogposts (and this one for that matter), so here’s a few very select teasers on what we’ve been working on:
That being said, I come with a pretty neat announcement:
We now have a Youtube channel for the mod!! (and also any other projects we’re working on though as for the time being MMP)
We’re hoping to upload any future teasers on there alongside Twitter and any other relevant platforms; if you’d like to keep up with the mod outside of this website I highly recommend going and checking it out for yourself!

Anywho, I’ll let the rest of the guys talk about their end of things:
Mixin' It Up!
Heya, Gabe here.
So as of late, I've been working to improve my works in music. I've been taking a music elective that I'm a huge fan of, where I've learned quite a bit about how certain instruments work. I've also thought that, while Murioz's main week songs are good, they've been getting a little bit on the older side.
Therefore, I've established
Here's a little snippet of one of the more finished songs (which has something that perfectly ties into the next section too). We don't really have much for the visuals of this song yet, so the video only has the portion of the screen with the notes.
(Do you like my Sepia shader? I made it myself :) )
Miscellaneous Programming Happenings
Over the course of the past... what... SIX MONTHS!? Wow, time really does fly by...
Anyway, over the course of the last half-a-year (actually, only really the past two months), I've done a few random things for the mod that, while interesting, aren't quite worth mentions in teasers. So, I'll rapidfire some of them here.
1. Rating Flips
In the video above, you may notice that the rating does sick flips when you hit certain notes with a "lucky" rating. I added this on November 22nd, because it sounded cool in my head and ended up looking cool too.2. Shiny Oser Shader
Did this one on Osertober 10th. Ended up pretty good I think.
3. Text Outlines
Did this one on November 22nd as well. Logan's been bugging me to add this for a while now and I finally caved in. Had to redo quite a bit of the text stuff, though, so that took a bit. I had to do a lot of repositioning, too. I do not like to reposition text, it is not my favorite thing to do.
4. Missing Text Errors
Fixed this on October 31st, spooky... By this time we had recently switched from the Codename Engine developer build to the full version (v1.0.1 specifically). Unfortunately, some stuff broke that I had to fix. One of these things ended up making the song listing for the main week songs just not appear at all, which makes it look quite odd.
5. Folder Icon
Made this on October 28th. A bit unrelated but I made a folder icon for the mod. I think it looks good, and that's good enough for me.
6. Intro Cutscenes
Added this on October 25th. The video playing here is just a placeholder since the intro videos are going to be done later in development.
"I am the Angry Pumpkin."
7. After-Images
Added this on October 10th. It's for a solo section of one of the more finished extra songs, Mugen, which is based on the freeware, Mugen.
8. Dialogue Cutscenes
Added this on June 16th. In addition to intro cutscenes, we will have dialogue at the beginning of the main week songs, since having dialogue within the videos themselves isn't the best idea since some people might not be able to read it. I'm a fan of these placeholder people, anyway.
9. 3D LAND???
I've been working with 3D stuff recently as well. I managed to figure out Codename Engine's rendering system to add a 3D stage for the mod, shown here.
I've also been working on the credits, which has become almost like a little side project within this mod. It also uses 3D, although none of it is made of models and it's all shaders with clever positioning and scaling for the characters.
"YEOWCH!"
Well, that's it for my section. Hope you enjoyed my small ramble about stuff.
THE FIRST SONG NOT VISUALLY DONE BY ASH!!!
That’s right folks you heard it here!! We got a super cool guest artist on the mod!! So much so I’m gonna let them have their own section!!!!! Ain’t that wacky!!!!
Hello everybody! I'm Squiz, the artist of the song NOT made by Ash!
For the past couple of months, I’ve been working on developing a little bit of 3D animation, and when I learned that Datapack was a song planned to have 3D graphics, I thought it would be fun to throw my hat on the wing and help a little bit on the project!
Working on this has been such a fun experiment and I’m very happy with the work I have so far! Since the song is based of off Minecraft, I’ve been trying to give the song a look closer to the well-known *Mob Mod* ..mod. It's a little hard to replicate that style, but I hope you will enjoy it all the same!

(I take no credit for the teased models here, Ash still had a bit of visual influence for the song.)
That should’ve been all I wanted to talk about! See y’all on the road ahead!
Thanks Squiz!! I think another team member wanted to talk aswell:
Murioz Section
Hi! Me again, figured I’d write something for the new blogpost.
Recently I’ve been remaking and cleaning up things I thought weren’t great, yes my name is avery from 2024 (i don’t blame them for doing that nowadays i get it now) since they were mixed really badly and were made during the start of the mod.
How many of them you may ask? ..4 of them. Yep, 4! That’s quite a big number of remakes, here’s some hints on what each of them are:
- One was originally posted in Apr 27, 2024
- One was originally made by gabe
- The other 2 are of green stashed man!
As for the other stuff, back in July we made the Mario's Monday Morning Mix-Up Sampler video, which you can see here. The entire sampler was all made in ONE day! Yep!! ONE day!!!! I don’t know why me and Ash thought this was a good idea, but the idea of the sampler was to give you all something to enjoy while we were still working on gameplay (aswell as serving as a part of my portfolio now)
I wish I could talk more outside of that (and other projects unrelated to MMP) but that’s all from me!
..I ehh. I couldn't insert the ASCII normally. sorry.
Going Forward & Future Plans
So what now? Is it gonna be complete radio silence for the next few months? Will there be more blog posts? Will yous get like anything at all???
Well! I’d like to formally announce now that we’re planning to release the mod in the big 2026, more specifically Q2-Q4 of that year implying all goes well. Don’t take that as a final release date as a whole heap of things can happen, though at the rate things are going currently we feel pretty confident in that prediction.
Of course there’s still a ton of work to get to that point in various departments, the biggest of which being animation which we have quite a few plans for, however I can guarantee from this point onwards you will be getting bigger and more frequent teasers from this point onwards, and if you guys are interested maybe some more blogposts posts too.
Our current plans currently is getting a complete rebranding of the website out along with a trailer and other minor bits and bobs before release.
Regardless, thank you all for your continued patience. Everything is finally starting to tie together into a final result we’re all proud of and we can’t wait for you to see what we’ve been up to the last year.
Thanks a million, we hope to see yo—
..?
..What?
Ohhhh right!!! I get it!!! You want one of those "big teasers" we were talking about right??
Well then!! How about you we make a little deal?
In about one month from now, the original Monday Night Mario Mix will offically turn 3 years old. If you can be patient for just a *teensy* bit longer, we have a little suprise in store for you.
See you soon >:]
